Think of this game as a toned down Bethesda title with better graphics.
If you think that could interest you this game is definitely worth the try.
This game is different, it is very unique in its own way and honestly there is no competitor to what 4A has done with Metro 2033.
It's a different kind of immersion.
If you like immersion this game is for you.
There is no competitor on the console market and is something different and a much needed breathe of fresh air...or should I say polluted post apocalypse air.
This game is great and it gives you the sense of being there.
Play the game yourself. It's single player but isn't 8hours long, and has some stunning visuals to boot.
Only console game on the market offering this gameplay style.
Metro 2033 deserves some blockbuster attention.
They are just doing that because God of War 3's midnight launch.
Just like how at Mass Effect 2's they had MAG also for pick up.
The game is different tho and the immersion is just....just...damn.
One review said the weapons were weak...I beg to differ. Metro created weapons do suck, but pre apocalypse weapons have nice dinners.

If you've been watching the videos on the net they show nothing....and I sincerely mean NOTHING compared to when it's on that HDTV.
THQ really should be giving this game the propaganda treatment.

Metro 2033....is a dormant beast.
The videos on the net do the game no justice.....dodging Nazi's, dodging traps, losing air, no ammo, while being chased by a beast is just a regular ol' day in the Metro....outside the Metro.....omg...I'll save it for you to see for yourself.
If Microsoft by some chance could purchase iD and Epic they would be great additions to the needed developers of MSFTs first party.
Nah,...if I remember Batman Arkham asylum correctly and how the fanboys overhyped that forgettable Joker content to justify their purchase...I hope they play the same role in a game with some REAL content and not some tack on addition.

It's finally hitting the streets which is a good thing.

You mean to tell me that EVERY comparison that shows the differences to be hardly noticeable are ALL SD and cannot be judged from looking at the pictures and videos given?
That pretty much makes EVERY comparison to any game in the past invalid because they were all done on the internet!
So we can't see the difference in motion.....we need to look at some still images to see this "huge" difference.

Only screenshots that you can see a hardly noticeable difference are those shots of close ups of faces or hair.
For the screenshots that matter like gameplay and exploration there is hardly any difference.
Click "Screenshot in HD" to all of those if you truly believe the difference is night and day you're a complete tool.
These screens make the 360 look like they lack color but any person with a Contrast and Color slider with their TV can fix ...

Bought the 360 version and I'm completely satisfied with it.
I once only owned a Ps3 and didn't care 360 was getting the games I purchased at a higher quality because it didn't defeat my purpose of playing a game to have fun and to soak in the story. (Which I thought games we're supposed to be)

Aren't Obsidian the ones with that new engine forgot its name but I remember a demo being shown of some spartan looking soldier in 3rd person shooting stuff off of tables with an automatic handgun.

Name one game exclusive to the Ps3 that runs from a proprietary engine that isn't linear, gives you the freedom of camera movement, and isn't scripted beyond belief dependent on graphically enhanced in game cutscenes sometimes blended with CGI that give you the illusion your playing some technical masterpiece.
Technical standpoint...Halo Reach would have taken on a dump on every FPS available for consoles if it was mandated...
